  • If Brooklyn native Taj Gibson gets his wish, the world champion Chicago Cubs won’t be the only ones getting an ovation in the Windy City on Friday.

Gibson believes Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah should get such a reception when they return to Chicago with the Knicks (8 p.m. ESPN).

“The crowd should give them a good standing ovation,” Gibson told the Chicago Tribune. “They gave Chicago a lot of blood, sweat and tears.”

This will be the only appearance for Rose, the former No. 1 overall pick of the Bulls, in Chicago this year, while the Bulls come to Madison Square Garden twice.

GREENBURGH, N.Y. — In his first public comments since he was found not liable in Los Angeles in his civil trial for gang rape on Wednesday, a relieved Derrick Rose said he’s praying for everyone who was involved in the case and that he’s confident and motivated going forward.

After he missed two weeks of the preseason and five of six preseason games, Rose and the Knicks are set to open the regular season on Tuesday in Cleveland against LeBron James and the reigning NBA champion Cavaliers.

“Oh man, it feel like heaven to be out there, man,” Rose said after practice on Saturday, his first since leaving for L.A. from Houston on Oct 5. “I got through my little situation but I’m happy to be focusing on nothing but basketball right now.”

Jurors posed with Knicks point guard Derrick Rose after he was found not liable in his civil trial for gang rape. The verdict was announced Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

“It felt like she was playing us,” said a juror who would only give his first name as Jared. “The second her lawyer started questioning her, she would start crying. I mean, granted, that could be realistic, but I feel l’m pretty good at reading people, and I felt as if it was false.”

Jared was among several jurors who spoke to reporters outside the courthouse, none of whom gave their full names.

GREENBURGH, N.Y. — Derrick Rose will likely start for the Knicks in their season-opener at Cleveland on Tuesday despite missing two weeks of the preseason because of his civil trial for gang rape.

Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek said Tuesday Rose “probably” would start against LeBron James and the Cavaliers, who will be getting their NBA championship rings on the same night the Indians could play Game 1 of the World Series in Cleveland.

“We’ll have to see how he is, but I would anticipate yes, he probably would,” Hornacek said “If we had no practices or one practice and then we had to play the game then maybe it would be a different story. But we have three days to practice, he was there at training camp, so he has seen our stuff.

Derrick Rose is facing an upcoming civil trial related to an alleged gang rape, but Knicks President Phil Jackson says the case “isn’t keeping [Rose] up at night.”

“We’re not going to really talk about that, we’re just going to let the process work itself out,” Jackson said Friday at the Knicks training facility. “We’re not concerned.

“We understand this is a serious subject we’re talking about but this has to be done outside of our control. It’s something we can’t control so Derrick has expressed that he’s not concerned about it. I mean, he’s quite aware of it but it’s not keeping him up at night so we’re going to leave it at that.”

The trial is slated to being Oct. 4 in Los Angeles, the same day the Knicks open the preseason in Houston. It remains unclear if Rose will miss any portion of the preseason because of the trial. The Knicks will have their media day on Monday and are set to begin training camp on Wednesday at West Point.
