Jordan Brown was on his lunch break and visiting Squeeze Inn Hamburger’s in Napa, Calif., last Tuesday when the McDonald’s All-American selections came out.

When the 6-foot-10 power forward from Prolific Prep (CA) saw his name appear on the screen in the restaurant, he celebrated with a couple of his buddies — and the folks in the restaurant.

“I go to that place a lot and it was great just having them celebrate with me, too,” Brown said by phone.

Brown is one of 24 McDonald’s All-Americans who will play in the March 28 game in Atlanta.

“[I felt] just excitement, really,” he said. “The two guys that were with me on my team just kind of erupted with me.”

Jordan Brown, the 6-foot-10 power forward from Prolific Prep (CA), took his official visit to UCLA this past weekend one week after he visited St. John’s.

“It went well,” said Dion Brown, the player’s father. “The campus itself was nice. The coaches were great and made us feel comfortable and welcome. We got to see practices, the same as when we went to St. John’s. The team looked pretty impressive.

“Jordan kind of knows a couple of guys on the team, Jaylen Hands, Jalen Hill he played with at USA [Basketball]. Jello Ball and everything, so he hung out with those guys, they made him feel pretty comfortable. It was pretty good.”

Meantime, St. John’s assistant Greg St. Jean was slated to watch Jordan on Wednesday at Prolific Prep.

Jordan Brown, the 6-foot-10 power forward from Prolific Prep (CA), has two official visits upcoming in the next few weeks.

Brown will visit St. John’s Oct. 13 for their Red Storm Tip-Off event, and will then visit UCLA the weekend of Oct. 20.

“There are no other visits set,” Dion Brown, the player’s father, said from the USA Basketball minicamp in Colorado Springs, Colo. “But we would like to take all five visits at some point. A lot will depend on our basketball schedule this season.”
