CHICAGO — Monday’s McDonald’s All-American game practice had a bit of everything: intriguing post matchups, impressive performances, highlight plays, but most of all, a great amount of intensity from start to finish. ZAGSBLOG was on hand to take notes from the morning session.

Kevin Knox, the undecided Tampa (FL) Catholic small forward, showcased the most impressive all-around offensive game today. He knocked down high-arcing three-pointers, and showed an ability to finish around the rim. “I thought I played really hard, made some shots, and got passes to my friends,” Knox said after the practice. “It’s all fun and games off the court, but on the court, it’s straight business.” Knox added that the Kentucky commits on his team — Quade Green, P.J. Washington, Jarred Vanderbilt and Nick Richards — are making a “24/7” pitch for him to join them in Lexington. Knox said he plans for a mid-April decision (after the Jordan Brand Classic), and players declaring for the NBA Draft will factor into this decision. Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina and Florida State are in the mix, and Knox added that Michael Porter Jr. is now pitching Missouri to him.

Uncommitted Class of 2017 point guard Trevon Duval will take his final visit to Seton Hall beginning Wednesday, March 8.

The Big East Tournament runs Wednesday-Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, and No. 5 Seton Hall opens play on Thursday at 2:30 against No. 4 Marquette.

The 6-foot-3 Duval has taken official visits to Kansas, Duke, Arizona and Baylor, with Seton Hall his final remaining school.

About 150 Seton Hall fans, along with head coach Kevin Willard and his entire staff, watched Duval last month when his IMG Academy beat The Patrick School at Roselle Catholic.

Kevin Knox took his final official visit to North Carolina this past weekend and will decide sometime in early April between UNC, Duke, Kentucky and Florida State, the alma mater of his parents.

His father, Kevin Knox Sr., said UNC and Florida State “need” his son, a 6-foot-9 wing scorer from Tampa (FL) Catholic, while Duke and Kentucky “want” him.

“When you dissect each roster, I can actually see where Florida State and North Carolina would absolutely, positively need a guy like Kevin in the role that he would fulfill,” Knox Sr. told Ben Roberts of the Herald-Leader. “Whereas Kentucky, I think they might be all right. As well as Duke.”

As for North Carolina, which has yet to land a five-star recruit in 2017, they definitely “need” him.
