  • NEW YORK — Luther Muhammad and his Sports U teammates are going to be like The Beatles this spring and summer.

    Crowds wherever they go.

The 6-foot-4 Muhammad had a slew of coaches watching him through the first two days of the Under Armour Association stop at Basketball City, including Notre Dame head man Mike Brey, Seton Hall head coach Kevin Willard and assistants from Butler, Cal, Cincinnati, Oregon and St. John’s.

The Hudson Catholic guard will take a visit to Notre Dame next week before the Under Armor stop in Indianapolis.

“Yeah, I’ll be out there,” he said. “I think I leave Thursday for it.”

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Jahvon Quinerly and Luther Muhammad made it 2-0 for the Jersey Boys on Saturday.

The 6-foot-1 Quinerly went for 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists en route to game MVP honors as Hudson Catholic beat Charles Bassey and St. Anthony (TX), 62-53, to help the New Jersey schools go 2-0 on the day at the Hoophall Classic. Earlier, Roselle (N.J.) Catholic beat Weaver (TX).

The 6-5 Muhammad also had a strong game in the win, going for 24 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals.

“I feel like Jersey has the toughest basketball in the country, that’s just my opinion,” Quinerly said.

Three other Garden State teams — Blair Academy, St. Anthony’s and The Patrick School — will also play at the Hoophall this weekend.

Jahvon Quinerly and Luther Muhammad, the two Class of 2018 guards from New Jersey power Hudson Catholic, were at Madison Square Garden on Monday when Seton Hall took down previously unbeaten South Carolina in a thriller.

The very next day, fresh off their victory, Seton Hall head coach Kevin Willard and associate head coach Shaheen Holloway were in the gym at Hudson Catholic scouting Quinerly, Muhammad and their classmate, small forward Louis King.

“They’ve done a terrific job, they’ve been extremely visible,” Hudson Catholic coach Nick Mariniello said of the Seton Hall staff. “And they’re making guys in our program a priority.”

Willard and Holloway will be at the City of Palms Classic in Florida this weekend for the Hudson Catholic guys, as well as IMG Academy (FL) point guard Trevon Duval, who is down to Duke, Kansas, Arizona, Baylor and Seton Hall.

NEW YORK — Luther Muhammad had a big weekend for himself.

The 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Hudson Catholic hit the game-winning jumper in the Nike IS8 semifinals and then went on to win the title alongside his high school teammate Jahvon Quinerly with the Northeast Basketball Club. Both players then represented New Jersey in the Sharette Dixon Classic Saturday night at the Gauchos Gym, where they lost to New York, 103-92.

“It was great because that was my first time playing at IS8,” he said. “So my first time playing I get a championship in it, so that’s pretty good. I was happy about that.
