CHAMBLEE, Ga. – The Kentucky Wildcats may already have the No. 2 ranked recruiting class in 2019, but they aren’t done yet.

Current commits and McDonald’s All-Americans Kahlil Whitney and Tyrese Maxey spoke Tuesday about their efforts to recruit uncommitted All-Americans such as Matthew Hurt and Jaden McDaniels.

“I’ve been talking to Matthew Hurt, messing with him,” Maxey said at Media Day ahead of Wednesday’s McDonald’s All-American Game (7 p.m., ESPN2). “He’s on my team, so every time I get the chance I’ll mess with him. I want him to come to Kentucky and I want him to help us win a national championship.”

CHAMBLEE, Ga. – After their attempt to repeat as national champions was thwarted on Saturday, the Villanova Wildcats are ready to re-load with a four-man recruiting class that includes McDonald’s All-Americans Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Bryan Antoine.

“We’re going to be something special to watch,” said the 6-foot-4 Antoine at media day Tuesday. “I’m here with Jeremiah [Robinson-Earl]. Jeremiah and I have had the same coach since freshman year, so the chemistry is already there.”

Antoine also made it clear that the duo have a great relationship off the court.

“It’s crazy,” said Antoine. “We text each other every day. We FaceTime and snapchat each other. It’s very cool.”

The pair will have their first opportunity to play alongside each other under the bright lights in Wednesday’s McDonald’s All-American Game (7 p.m., ESPN2), as they will both represent the West Team.

CHAMBLEE, Ga –Precious Achiuwa is in no rush to make a college decision.

The 6-foot-9 McDonald’s All-American forward from Montverde (FL) Academy says he’s “open” in his recruitment and is eyeing a decision sometime in late May. He’s already visited North Carolina, Kansas and Memphis, among others, and plans to take more visits.

“Me and my family were thinking about late May, maybe around that time,” he said of a decision timeline. “Right after GEICO [High School Nationals April 4-6 in New York City], we’re going to sit down and we’re going to make decisions and it’s going to benefit myself moving forward.”

He added: “My recruitment is still open to every single school that’s been recruiting me since Day One. For me I’m just looking for a place where I can fit in where my game is going to translate, where I’m going to get better.”

North Carolina head coach Roy Williams and assistant Hubert Davis have made Achiuwa a priority, watching him recently both at Montverde and at the Metro Classic in New Jersey. UNC commit Armando Bacot has also been busy this week recruiting Achiuwa and Oak Hill Academy (VA) point guard Cole Anthony to UNC.
