Between his switch to the Nike EYBL circuit, his ongoing recruitment and his goals with USA Basketball, Armando Bacot has a lot going on this spring and summer.

The 6-foot-10, 238-pound power forward from Trinity Episcopal School (VA) switched to Team Takeover on the Nike circuit from Team Loaded on the Adidas one. Though he’s still adjusting to his new teammates, Takeover went 4-0 this past weekend in Indianapolis.

“I just wanted to get an opportunity to play on the EYBL and just wanted to finish off with who I started with,” Bacot said Tuesday by phone. “My mom thought it would be a good move for me.”

Takeover has a loaded roster and Bacot is settling in nicely.

INDIANAPOLIS — Jalen Gaffney’s stock was already rising before this weekend’s Under Armour Association stop here.

But when Gaffney hit a half court buzzer-beating three-pointer to cap Team Rio’s victory over Nico Mannion and Team Breakdown on Friday night, it only helped add to his growing reputation.

“Yeah, Jalen hit a half court,” Mannion said of Team Rio’s 80-77 win over West Coast Elite.

Since that weekend, Gaffney has added offers from UConn, Virginia Tech, Georgetown and Marquette. Pittsburgh and Xavier had offered before Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLISBryan Antoine had quite a day for himself on Saturday at the Under Armour Association stop here.

With Team Rio trailing Team Breakdown by 17 points in the third quarter, the 6-foot-5 Antoine keyed a remarkable comeback by hitting a three-pointer to tie the game with 20 seconds left in regulation and then draining two clutch free throws in overtime to ice the 74-71 win. Antoine’s effort came with Villanova head man Jay Wright and assistants from Duke, Kentucky, Florida and St. John’s among those watching.

After the win, Antoine said he envisions issuing his list “sometime after this session” and making a college decision “kind of soon,” but added it likely won’t be until “September or October, sometime before the school season.”
