  • The long and winding recruitment of Jordan Tucker has ended in storybook fashion.

The 6-foot-7 wing from White Plains, N.Y., committed to Duke on Saturday following an official visit this week.

“It is with great pleasure that I have decided to attend Duke University next season and join the Brotherhood,” he Tweeted.

Tucker chose Duke after they offered him a scholarship on Saturday when they lost out on Kevin Knox to Kentucky.

Tucker had been courted by Syracuse, Villanova and Georgia Tech most recently before narrowing it to Duke and Syracuse.

Jordan Tucker, one of the top remaining uncommitted players in the class of 2017, is down to Duke and Syracuse and expects to announce in the coming few days.

Following Kevin Knox‘s decision to commit to Kentucky last Saturday, Duke was left looking for another wing option. Tucker, out of Marietta (GA) Wheeler, visited the ACC school this week.

“It was good,” Tucker told Scout.com. “[Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski] basically said that he needs someone to come in and score the ball. They don’t have a true wing, a two or three. They have Grayson [Allen] and Gary [Trent] and then someone like me that can shoot the ball at 6-7 or 6-8 and give them some versatility. I could play the two, the three or the four.

“He said I could play a lot, as far as minutes go, but being a starter isn’t a guarantee at all,” Tucker added. “He said everyone has to come in and work for that.”

Duke is also losing point guard Frank Jackson to the NBA Draft, and remains in the mix for 2017 point guard Trevon Duval.

It isn’t every day that the nephew of a major hip-hop mogul visits your college.

But Georgetown hosted such a visitor over the weekend when Nahziah CarterJay-Z’s nephew — visited the Big East school and new coach Patrick Ewing. The athletic 6-foot-7 wing, who is the son of Shawn Carter’s older brother Eric Carter, also tripped to Boston College on Wednesday.

“It’s getting out there, I guess,” Carter told the Democrat & Chronicle in February about his relationship to Jay-Z. “Whenever I go to see my grandmother (Gloria Carter), he’s usually there (in New Jersey).”

    He calls him “Uncle J.”

Carter, who is only 17, averaged about 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for Rochester (N.Y.) Bishop Kearney, which went 16-7 and reached the New York Section V Class AA semifinal.

After the former Dayton signee reopened his recruitment when Archie Miller left for Indiana, Carter has relished the second chance to go through the process and keep his options open. He could opt to attend prep school for the 2017-18 season but is now being courted hard by schools like Georgetown, Boston College, Indiana, Washington, Vanderbilt and South Carolina, among others.

    Things are happening at DePaul.

Dave Leitao’s on Monday landed a pledge from Tyger Campbell, the 6-foot Class of 2019 point guard La Lumiere (IN) School. Campbell, ranked the No. 6 point guard in that class, is attempting to reclassify into 2018. He also considered UNLV, Michigan State, Tennessee and Alabama.

“Their sell was they were honest with me,” Campbell told ESPN. “They haven’t had some great seasons in the past. They want me to come in and be the guy. Lead the team, bring DePaul basketball back.

“I really liked coach Leitao, seems like a great guy. He’s very wise and very knowledgeable. And Chicago itself, it’s a great city. I got to see it.”
