  • Like his older brother, God’sgift Achiuwa, Precious Achiuwa came to the United States from Nigeria for a better life.

And like his brother, his path to that life comes by way of basketball.

While Gift was a solid forward at St. John’s for one season, his younger brother is now being recruited at the highest levels.

Ohio State and Kansas are the latest schools to offer the 6-foot-9, 206-pound wing from St. Benedict’s Prep and the New Heights AAU program who is ranked the No. 10 small forward in 2019 by 247Sports.com.

“Everything is going fine,” Achiuwa said Tuesday by phone. “Right now I’m just worrying about getting better. I’m not really focused on recruiting and stuff. I’m just trying to get better. I’m trying to work on my jump shot and my dribbling.”.

Nassir Little is no longer one of Central Florida’s best kept secrets. Known for prodigious vertical leaping ability and an adeptness at guarding a variety of positions, the 6-foot-6 210-pound wing has witnessed his high-major stock heighten this spring. Little, of Orlando Christian Prep, has emerged into one of the country’s most highly sought after recruits.

“UNC called and they seemed very intrigued about Nassir,” said Brad Augustine, program director of Little’s 1Family Hoops AAU program.

“Coach Williams will be back in July to see him. Coach Calipari got a chance to see him in Dallas. Coach (Steve) Robinson, an assistant at UNC, he watched him in Dallas and Atlanta. (Cincinnati Head Coach) Mick Cronin and (Associated Head Coach) Larry Davis have repeatedly been down to Florida over the past few months to see Nasir and his family. They see Nas as a legitimate wing scorer who can defend the 1-4, similar to Kawhi Leonard.”
