The official visit — first reported by ZAGSBLOG — will culminate on Friday with Diallo attending the Auburn-UConn game (2:30 p.m., ESPN2).
UConn already has Mamadou Diarra, Diallo’s friend and former Putnam Science teammate, on the roster although he’s out for the year with an injury. UConn was also three deep with Ollie and two assistants watching Diallo and Putnam Science this week at the City of Palms Classic.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Coming off an 18-point performance Wednesday night in Marietta (GA) Wheeler’s win over the Cannon School (N.C.) at the Chick-Fil-A Classic, Jordan Tucker discussed his final two schools — Indiana and Villanova — and his decision timeline.
The 6-foot-7 Tucker said the visit to see Indiana play North Carolina on Nov. 30 was a positive experience because he got to see the time leading up to the game.
“It was good,” Tucker said. “The atmosphere was crazy there. I went there for the UNC game, and was there for two days. Their preparation for the game was really intense, the workouts, lifting, film room. I really got to see it translate to the court. They said they’re going to push me, like any other school, they said they really want to develop me as a player, make me more efficient and get me ready for the next level.”
Hamidou Diallo will take his first official visit to UConn beginning this week and will be on hand for Friday’s game against Auburn in Hartford, Putnam Science Academy (CT) head coach Tom Espinosa told ZAGSBLOG.
Diallo and his Putnam Science Academy (CT) teammates are currently in Florida and will play IMG Academy Wednesday afternoon. After that the plan is to take a flight home and for him to visit UConn.
UConn has been recruiting the 6-foot-6 Putnam Science shooting guard for several years and went three deep to watch him on Tuesday at the City of Palms Classic. With head coach Kevin Ollie, associate head coach Glen Miller and assistant Dwayne Killings watching, Diallo went for 21 points and 7 rebounds in a loss to Mohamed Bamba and Westtown (PA). School. Bamba is also a UConn target.
UConn, which has former Putnam Science and Diallo buddy Mamadou Diarra on its roster, is considered among the frontrunners for Diallo, along with Kentucky.
UConn rolled in three deep with head coach Kevin Ollie and two assistants.
Indiana head man Tom Crean was in the house.
So was Syracuse assistant Adrian Autry and Kansas assistant Norm Roberts.
All were on hand at the City of Palms Classic for the matchup between Mohamed Bamba and Westtown (PA) School and Hamidou Diallo and Putnam Science Academy (CT) in the Signature Series final.
