  • KJK_0212-LNEW YORK — Rawle Alkins has some ambitious plans for his college recruitment.

The 6-foot-5 2016 guard wants to visit every school on his list. That list was recently cut to 10 schools before he added Arizona back to make it 11.

Of course, high school prospects are only permitted five official visits that are paid for by the schools. They can take as many unofficial visits — which they themselves pay for — as they want.

“Every school on that list is going to be visited,” Alkins, recently projected as the No. 14 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by DraftExpress.com, said Friday after practice at the Under Armour Elite 24 Game. “It’s 10 visits.”

KJK_0297-LNEW YORK — Markelle Fultz is off the board to Washington.

The 6-foot-4 guard out of Hyattsville (MD) DeMatha Catholic chose the Huskies Friday night on ESPNU over Louisville and Arizona. Kentucky also offered and he told SNY.tv before his announcement he was still considering a visit to that school.

Washington head coach Lorenzo Romar and assistant Raphael Chillious courted Fultz across two years and his recent visit to campus made quite an impression.

“It was a good visit,” he said earlier Friday at practice for the Under Armour Elite 24 Game. “Just going there and experiencing Washington. I’ve never been to Seattle, so that was good. The coaching staff there I have a good relationship with them so it was good to go there and see how the players are and how the atmosphere is.”

KJK_0335-XLNEW YORKTrevon Duval wowed media members and NBA scouts alike through two days worth of practices here at the Under Armour Elite 24 Game.

The 6-foot-3 2017 floor general was the best guard among a talented group of guards — and it wasn’t really close.

“Most definitely,” one NBA scout told SNY.tv. “Trevon’s control, speed bursts, athleticism and precocious understanding of when, where and how makes him one of the elite point guard prospects in high school.

“He really knows how to break down a defense and make the right play, either for himself or a teammate. He works to get everyone involved.”

NEW YORK — Duke went three deep at least once this summer on the recruiting trail for 6-foot-4 Frank Jackson, perhaps their top target in the Class of 2016 at the point guard spot.

After playing this weekend in the Under Armour Elite 24 Game, Jackson, out of American Fork (UT) Lone Peak, will take his official visit to Duke next weekend, and it sounds like he can’t wait.

“I leave Thursday night and I’ll get there Friday morning,” he said Friday at Elite 24 practice.

Jackson has spoken to a member of the Duke staff “almost every day for the past three or four weeks.”

“At least three or four times a week,” he added.

Screen_Shot_2015-07-01_at_1.02.10_PMKassoum Yakwe is closing in on a college decision and expects to decide in the next few days, a source close to Yakwe told SNY.tv.

“No decision yet on whether Kassoum will pick St. John’s or Oregon,” the source said.

SNY.tv reported this week that the 6-foot-7 Yakwe is down to those two schools.

Because he has graduated from Our Savior New American, Yakwe could opt to attend prep school or college in 2015-16.

One option would be for him to enroll at St. John’s next week and then see whether or not he becomes a partial qualifier.

KJK_0297-LNEW YORK — Markelle Fultz will announce his college choice after 7 p.m. Friday night on ESPNU.

The 6-foot-4 guard out of Hyattsville (MD) DeMatha Catholic will choose between Louisville, Arizona and Washington, three schools he recently visited.

Just before that announcement became public, Fultz told SNY.tv that he was also considering an official visit to Kentucky but now that won’t happen.

“Kentucky is another one I want to see, that’s another one who offered me, so I want to visit Kentucky,” he said.

KJK_9915-LNEW YORK — Kobi Simmons has three official visits set and is strongly considering some big time programs.

A 6-4 combo guard from Alpharetta (GA) St. Francis, he recently trimmed his list to six schools: Ohio State, UNLV, Georgia, North Carolina, Kentucky and Arizona.

He has official visits set to Kentucky (Aug. 28), UNLV (Sept 4) and Ohio State (Sept. 11).

“There’s other schools I might visit but not planned right now,” he said Friday at the Under Armour Elite 24 practice.
