Tevin Mack is taking an unofficial visit to Texas this weekend and the former VCU commit could decide his new destination by Tuesday.
The 6-foot-6 2015 wing out of Columbia (S.C.) Dreher is down to Clemson, Georgia, Texas, Kansas, UCLA, West Virginia and North Carolina, according to a report from The State.
He has no official visits remaining.
New Texas coach Shaka Smart had initially secured a commitment from Mack at VCU last November, but he has since re-opened his recruitment.
He is ranked the No. 9 small forward in the Class of 2015 by 247Sports composite rankings, and is the No. 2 player in South Carolina behind P.J. Dozier, who committed to South Carolina.
Mack also visited Georgia last Sunday, according to The State.
Mack is a big-time athlete who can buckle down on defense to stop the opponent’s best offensive player. He can finish above the rim with authority, and he can get to the rim off the bounce. He needs to improve his jumper at this point, but he has the potential to make an impact immediately.
